Site Changelog (03.10.2026)

S. Golov | Published: 03.10.2026 | Last Revised: 04.10.2026 | rev0.1

A table of bug fixes and updates, and some ramblings of my own.

Beta 3.1

August 2026

 • Fixed some typos in the code.
 • Hard coded the main table width to 740px.
 • Changed "Nr." to "No." in the visitor counter because "Nr." is apparently a Germanic expression and not proper English.

Beta 3.2

August 2026

 • Added more quotes to the quotes list.
 • Reordered the main navigation buttons by importance. This is one of those decisions I regretted deeply; the old layout had grown on me, I liked it. Now, it is gone, replaced by something I convinced myself is better.

Beta 3.2.1

August 2026

Further bug fixes. Remember the changes I implemented in 3.1? I decided to be lazy for once and used mousepad to implement these changes and it somehow screwed up the code in the process of trying to fix it, so I had to fix further bugs in the code.

Beta 3.2.2

August 2026

A whole update dedicated to a J.J. Abrams's lens flare quote because why the hell not. It's way too f**king good.

Beta 3.3

August 2026

In an attempt to standardize my html style sheet code instead of writing a wholy new code for each new entry on this website --which included more and more features as I went on-- I decided, going forward, to have the style sheet I made for the "Swiss Rolling Stock in Ardèche, France" be the basis for my now-standardized style sheet, which I hard coded into index.php. I will expand it accordingly with time when I find more features to put into it.

Note: Having images properly float next to text is way more convoluted than it should be in html. It's 90s text-only website roots will haunt future web developers to come.

The new style sheet required rewriting part of my page displaying code "functions.php" --which extracts my pages in separate blocks marked with

, which can further then be displayed as either something resembling a thumbnail or something resembling a full article-- such that it would display my images --for which I too used divs-- correctly.

How my div detection used to look like:

/
(.*?)
/is

How it now looks like:

/
((?:(?!</?div\b).|<div\b[^>]*>(?1)*
)*)
/is

What a wonderful mess =] I'd rather not explain what it does, I've spend way too much time on this report already. I'll leave it as an excercise for the reader.

Beta 3.3.1

September 2026

Quotes and more quotes. Some are even from a friend of mine now, Mr. Nielsen.
